Exam Maker: Online Exams
Privacy policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026 · Effective: August 27, 2026
This policy explains how Exam Maker: Online Exams (also called “Examzy”, “we”, “us”, or “the app”) processes information when you use our online exams, quizzes, AI question generation, subscriptions, advertising, and related services.
01 — Information We Process
Information you provide and service information
Depending on the features you use, we may process account information, such as your name, email address, and account identifier; exam and quiz content; participant names or roll numbers; answers, scores, results, attendance, and responses; and messages or information you send to support.
We also process information needed to operate and protect the service, such as session details, feature usage, device and app information, diagnostic information, and identifiers used to provide access, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability. Some settings, temporary data, and files you choose to download or export may remain on your device.
02 — Online Exams and Quizzes
Hosting and participation
Exam Maker provides online exams and quizzes through cloud services. Hosts sign in with Google or, on supported Apple devices, Sign in with Apple. We use the account information made available by the sign-in provider to identify the host, provide the service, and associate eligible purchases with the correct account.
Participants can join a session using the invitation information provided by the host and do not need to create a Google or Apple account. To run an online session, we process the session information, quiz or exam material, participant details entered for the session, answers, timing, scores, results, and participation status. Hosts can access the session results available through the feature.
We use this information to provide online exams and quizzes, secure access, prevent misuse, maintain the service, and respond to support requests.
03 — AI Question Generation
When you choose to generate questions
AI question generation is optional. When you request it, we process the topic or instructions you enter and the generation settings you select in order to generate questions and answer options. This feature uses Google Firebase and Google Gemini services. Generated content is returned for you to review and use in the app.
Please do not enter personal, confidential, student-identifying, health, financial, or other sensitive information into an AI prompt.
We also process limited account, usage, and security information needed to provide the feature, apply applicable usage limits, prevent fraud or misuse, and maintain service reliability.
04 — Advertising & Analytics
Advertising
The free version may show advertising through Google AdMob. We ask you to choose an age range on the device so we can request ads appropriate for that choice:
- 13–17: the app requests non-personalized ads and applies the applicable under-age-of-consent setting where required.
- 18+: the app may request personalized ads only where the consent framework permits it; otherwise it requests non-personalized ads or does not request an ad.
Google AdMob and its partners may process technical and advertising information, such as advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device and operating-system information, app interactions with ads, diagnostics, and consent signals. We do not send your exam content, answers, student names, roll numbers, or results to AdMob for advertising.
Free AI generation may require a rewarded ad. We process limited information needed to grant the reward and prevent fraud or misuse.
Paid plans remove in-app advertising. They do not control information independently processed by an app store, RevenueCat, or other services used for the purchase.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics for limited product analytics, such as app opens, feature use, online-session activity, paywall entry, and export type. Analytics events are designed not to include exam or quiz content, answers, student names, roll numbers, participant identifiers, or scores.
Where the consent framework requires it, analytics stays off until you choose Allow. You can change that choice later in the app’s Privacy Choices. Outside those regions, analytics may be enabled after the app has resolved its consent state.
05 — Purchases and Subscriptions
How paid plans are handled
Subscriptions are sold and processed by the relevant app store, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to display offers, restore purchases, and receive purchase or entitlement status. We use account and purchase-status information to provide the correct paid features, prevent fraud, and handle support.
We do not receive your full payment-card number. We may retain account and purchase information, such as product or entitlement status, transaction identifiers, expiry or revocation information, and relevant timestamps, as needed to provide paid features.
06 — Third-Party Services
Who we work with, and why
These providers process information under their own privacy terms. We use them only for the functions described in this policy:
- Google Firebase and Google Gemini — online service infrastructure, sign-in, AI question generation, analytics, and service operations
- Google AdMob — advertising, consent management, and ad measurement
- Google Sign-In and Google Play — optional sign-in, purchases, licensing, and Android platform services
- Sign in with Apple and Apple App Store — optional iOS sign-in, purchases, and iOS platform services
- RevenueCat — subscription offerings, purchase restoration, and entitlement status
07 — Retention and Deletion
How long data is kept
- Online exam and quiz data: is retained for the period applicable to the host’s plan or the relevant feature, then deleted from our active service records when it is no longer needed.
- AI, security, and operational records: are retained only for the limited period needed to provide the feature, apply usage limits, maintain reliability, and prevent fraud or misuse.
- Account and purchase records: are retained while needed to provide the account or entitlement, prevent fraud, resolve support issues, or comply with legal obligations.
Third-party providers may retain data under their own policies and legal requirements.
08 — Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Access, correction, and deletion
We do not sell or rent personal information. You may ask about, access, correct, or request deletion of cloud data we control by contacting us at the address below. We may need information to identify the relevant account or session and to verify the request.
You can manage or delete information in the app where the feature provides that option, and you can change the device age range, analytics choice, and required ad privacy choices from Settings. You can also choose not to use online exams, quizzes, or AI question generation if you do not want those features to send information to our cloud providers. Signing out of a provider account on the device does not by itself delete cloud data or an active subscription record.
Our service providers operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Where applicable law gives you additional privacy rights, you may use the contact below to exercise them.
09 — Children and Student Use
Teacher-supervised use
The app is not designed for children under 13. It may be used by students in a teacher-, school-, parent-, guardian-, or institution-supervised setting. A host should collect only the participant information genuinely needed for a session, such as a nickname or roll number, and obtain any required notices or permissions.
We do not knowingly seek to collect unnecessary personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information through the app without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete the cloud data we control.
10 — Security
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; keep session invitations private and share them only with intended participants.
11 — Policy Updates
How we handle changes
We may update this policy as the app, its services, or applicable requirements change. We will update the “Last Updated” date when we do. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it as required.
